Upgrade your central heating system with a new gas boiler
We should all prepare for the winter months as the weather gets colder and the days shorter by having good central heating in our homes. If you have an efficient and safe gas central heating system installed you will enjoy the benefits of a comfortable and snug home.
The typical central heating system has copper pipework, central heating radiators and a gas heating boiler and it is basically of two types, vented or a pumped system.
Pumped systems are probably the more common ones and their main part is a feed expansion tank which acts as the centre core by heating up itself first to subsequently warm up the heaters via the pipes. Provision is made for water to be filled in the expansion tank tank as well as for expansion of the heated water.
In contrast, Sealed systems eliminate this primary water tank section. It’s basically closed, so there is really no need for any water tanks and the space they require. This system offers a major advantage in that it reduces the risk of leakage and prevents other hazards such as airlocks; colder countries like Russia can reap great benefits from this systems since it avoids the risk of frozen pipes.
So you might ask what is really the point of getting gas central heating?.
The primary benefit of central heating is that the entire home or office is warmed up rapidly, and that too, without adversely affecting the air around you. Electric fires, gas and storage heaters were the types used in the old days. However, these were not ideal as they emitted an odour and affected the condition of the air, drying it out.
With gas central heating systems, these problems are not encountered, but your gas central heating system will require regular maintenance. Spring and summertime often sees these systems shut down and completely ignored, only to be abruptly switched on when a chilly wind blows in. Instead, you should start using the gas central heating system during the autumn season so that if any problem comes to the fore, you can call the plumber and get it rectified before the wintertime.
Airborne dust and other contaminants can also seep into the gas central heating system, necessitating periodic drainage and cleaning. For draining the system just open the valve and keep a bucket below it for water collection, ensure that water doesn’t enter the system when it is being drained.
