Do I need a power-flush
Do I need a power-flush
With each passing year contaminants builds within your heating boiler and system. The contaminants will need to be flushed out to restore your system to normal operation.
A power flush is an efficient way of removing this contamination and dirt that build up inside your gas fired boiler and central heating system over time.
Most systems develop this contaminants irregardless of type, the main influence is the passage of time and hence the older your central heating system the more likely it is to have this problem. A powerflush should be considered as part of the preparatory process before you install a replacement heating boiler. As the sludge and general dirt are disturbed in the new installation it will find its way into your new heating boiler and reduce its effectiveness and life span.
If your system suffers from internal contaminants you should also consider adding corrosion inhibitor.
The other advantages of a powerflush are that it addresses some of the issues below : -
* some radiators suffering from colder points
* contamination build up in boilers
* central heating pump sludge
* sludge accumulation within pipes
* corrosion of the central heating system internals
* reduced water circulation through blockages
* knocks and bangs emanating from the heating system
If you do suffer from any of these the advantages of a powerflush could be :-
* helping your water pump to last longer as it handles clean water
* curing radiator cold patches so that the full surface of the heating radiator heats your room
* enhanced heating efficiency resulting in reduced heating costs
* clearing the gas fired boiler heat exchanger to stop banging noises and extending the gas fired boiler life
* decrease in contaminants and extending central heating radiator lifetime and improving performance
* clearing your heating system of contaminated water which could lead to internal system corrosion
An automated power flush simple machine is used to carry out the gas boiler and system cleansing. It is connected to your heating boiler and system and the central heating water is routed through the machine where it filters out the contaminants. The powerflush literally flushes the new liquid through your gas boiler and system. The heating engineer will usually top up the central heating system by adding a corrosion inhibitor to protect it in future years.
To see to it that you get the required advantages the powerflush should be finished by a trained engineer.
