Determine what variant of heating boiler you need
Various types of Central Heating Systems are available in the central heating market. Most of them consist of a set of heating heating radiators, a gas boiler and copper pipework.
Due to the average temperature that is seen across the United Kingdom and northern Europe , people barely find the need for air conditioning. Heating is more in demand particularly in the chilly wintertime, making a Gas Central Heating System an absolute must-have for all modern houses and all those located in the United Kingdom.
As autumn fades and chilly winds begin to blow, homeowners turn to their Gas Central Heating for warmth and comfort. Only then you can relax and feel cosy inside your home. Your Gas Central Heating System needs to be reliable. Additionally, your heating system should also be safe, user-friendly and durable.
Sealed and vented or pumped systems are the two leading types of Central Heating Systems available.
The most commonly used systems are pumped/vented Central Heating systems. An expansion tank is present in a pumped heating system. The tank supplies your house with hot water and provides the central heating radiators with heat. The expansion tank has adequate space to accommodate any water expansion that occurs due to heat. The expansion tank is placed at highest spot to help create water pressure. It serves a dual purpose by heating the house and also supplying heated water.
Older homes generally have pumped/vented Gas Central Heating systems.
The sealed Gas Central Heating system is one that more and more people are opting for these days. No water tanks are needed for a Sealed system as it is a completely closed setup saving space. The attic has no tanks or piping, the system is completely enclosed and locked, it’s not ventilated, and that has its advantages:.
- As there are no pipes, they cannot freeze up in the loft.
- No maintenance work on the tank or pipes that would be in the loft in a pumped/vented system.
- The risk of leakage is decreased as there are fewer pipes and the system is less complex.
- As there are no open vents, air cannot enter into the system and so the risk of corrosion, air locks and sludge is drastically diminished.
- Can be flushed out under pressure if needed by the mains water supply.
A sealed Gas Central Heating System is a system with the required controls and safety equipment all contained in one. No tank feeds a sealed system, the supply comes directly from the mains. There is no hot water tank, so water is drawn directly from the main supply.
A pressure vessel containing tightly packed gas can allow a sealed system to have normal fluctuations of pressure; a diaphragm serves as a barrier between the gas and water in the sealed system. If the pressure becomes too high in a sealed Gas Central Heating System; a safety valve will allow water to escape from the system and if the pressure drops too low a valve will open to refill the system with water.
Gas Central Heating Systems are a worthwhile investment as they have the lowest cost of performance when compared with other types of heating. Their ease of operation and versatility is much better than other types of heating.
